Nanny’s 90th Birthday
My grandmother, Nanny, turned 90 on March 29 and it was for this occasion we made the trip to Indiana. It was such a pleasure to see everyone. Elizabeth, Ryan and Desmond drove from Iowa, so we got to spend time with them there as well.
We had a fairly low-key celebration on Nanny’s actual birthday, followed by a more formal celebration the following day (see tomorrow’s post). Uncle Dan and Nancy made a yummy dinner and we spent the time catching up. Unfortunately, most of the pictures I took I caught people unaware and thus in various states of conversation and I didn’t post those.
Little Desmond eating grapes (he left all the tomatoes in his bowl).
Amelia and Desmond had a great time playing together and for the most part kept themselves occupied. The door and the cat door next to it kept them busy for a long while.
Practically since Amelia was able to crawl I’ve thought to myself that I should keep a log of all the disgusting things she’s done. I swear I could add an entry every day, as I’m sure most parents of young children can do (please don’t tell me I’m the only one). We’ll add this one for this day. It wasn’t until I saw the pictures that I noticed they were putting their mouths on the cat door. Yuck.
Many thanks to my uncles and aunts for taking such good care of us and making us feel so welcome! xo
